Trainer’s Choice

As a trainer, I’m frequently asked “What is the best dog? Speaking truthfully, I believe the best dog depends on
you or your family’s lifestyle.

Example 1

People who are always active and on the go should consider high energy dogs who require lots of exercise. Breeds such as Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, Golden doodles, pit bulls, etc.

Example 2

People who live a mostly sedimentary lifestyle should consider small, more frail type dogs; Yorkies, Minpins, small mix breeds, or older dogs. They require less activity.

Example 3

Busy moms with children always on the run and very little time should consider whether or not having a dog is a good idea. Some Moms are so amazing that they can handle a lab doodle, golden doodle and do just fine. These are Mom’s who handle stress and lots of fast moving parts. You’re amazing! Well done!

Example 4

Mom’s who like things quieter, slower and less activity should consider dogs with less drive and energy. Dogs with lower energy level, small or large breeds will ensure a quieter slower pace. Always base your purchase on your lifestyle and personality type. Remember children don’t have the maturity to choose for the entire family what type of dog to get. Children are going to be interested in a puppy. It always ends up being the responsibility of the busy mom. So, Mom, you make the choice based on what you can handle. You will feed, clean, train, scold, get less sleep and feel guilty if you make the wrong choice.
